Returning an unwanted brown bin.
We have been keen to give residents time to decide if they want to sign up to the service and not remove brown bins too soon, but realise some people do want to return these to us. We will use these bins for new customers once they have been cleaned. Arrange online for you brown bin to be removed or phone 0191 278 7878 (ask for garden waste).
Do you have green fingers or are you just tinkering with a trowel? Whichever you are, you can be a greener gardener and recycle your waste with our garden waste collection service. For just £20 per year we can collect your garden waste for you. It's hassle free, safe and kind to the environment too.
If you have not joined the scheme in the past you can now pay to receive garden waste collections this year by ringing 0191 278 7878 and asking for Garden Waste. Once you have paid you will receive a sticker and calendar. The payments will cover collections up to May 2014 no matter when you join the service, further details can be found in frequently asked questions.
We've written to all our current customers to explain the renewal process for 2013/14. Direct debit customers have been sent a new sticker and calendar. Customers who paid a one off amount last year will need to renew their subscription. Once you have paid you will receive your new sticker and calendar.
Look up your bin collection dates on our online bin calendar, if you have recently joined the scheme we will write to you to confirm your new bin collection dates prior to them starting.
