Using a waste carrier to take away your rubbish?

on sideIt is your responsibility to use a registered waste carrier. If you employ someone to take away your rubbish, you must check that they are registered on the Environment Agency's waste carriers' register. If your waste is found dumped illegally, whether you know about it or not, you are breaking the law and can be fined up to £5,000.
By law, if you carry, collect or dispose of household, commercial or industrial waste you must be registered with the Environment Agency. If you dump that waste illegally, you can be fined up to £50,000 and/or face up to 12 months in prison. Crown Court convictions can lead to a prison term of up to five years, or a fine, or both.
